Being a therapist has been Jenny's dream ever since she took her first psychology class as a senior in high school. In pursuit of her dream, after high school she studied psychology at Pepperdine University, graduating with honors. Post college, she worked for a year at a children's psychiatric hospital and then went on to get her Masters in Clinical Social Work from Boston University, graduating in 1991.
Having grown up in the Bay Area, Jenny returned after graduation to begin her career. She started working primarily with children, teens and families at a number of settings, including youth and family clinics, elementary schools, Palo Alto Medical Foundation, and intensive outpatient treatment centers. She also started an Art and Play Therapy Center for disadvantaged children in downtown San Jose.
Jenny developed her specialty in treating eating disorders when she began leading "Begin From Within" Groups and Workshops, a program for overcoming food, weight and body issues. Having overcome an eating disorder in her high school years, it felt like a great fit of skills and experience. Her expertise in treating depression, anxiety and self-injury has been a natural outgrowth of her work helping clients overcome eating disorders and her years of counseling youth and adults.
Jenny is highly dedicated to providing her clients with the highest standard of care.
On a personal note, Jenny is married and has two school-age children.
